Empowerment Through Technology: How Women Are Redefining The Tech Industry

If a company’s going to have a chance of competing with the big boys, then it can’t afford not to include women in its workforce. A moment’s reflection will show why. Modern technology is designed, built, and run not by companies as such but by teams of technologists (some of them women). These teams must be able to collaborate effectively. By now, it’s universally accepted that innovation springs from collaboration and that good ideas aren’t limited to one person; they’re the product of teamwork. It follows that working together, like working alone, requires trust. The ability to build trust is a special skill that is needed for teamwork in a world that is becoming more distrustful and anxious. Who better to supply these than women?

Although it can be difficult for women to break into a traditionally male-dominated field, more and more of them are choosing to pursue rewarding careers in technology. From coding and development to research and innovation, female employees are contributing their skills and knowledge to this ever-evolving sector, driving positive change and progress throughout. With so many inspiring women stepping up to lead in tech, it’s clear that we are at the forefront of an important cultural shift.

Times are changing, and women are now making their mark in the tech world, pioneering new ideas and technologies to drive progress. Every day, more women are entering the field of technology, and that’s not just because there are more women than men graduating from colleges with computer science degrees; it’s also because the tech industry is rapidly changing. Companies won’t be able to function without women at the helm.

At MulticoreWare, some notable female game-changers have made their mark, leading the charge in areas such as artificial intelligence, Sensor Fusion and Driverless Vehicles. This article will take a look at these inspiring stories of women in tech – how they were able to overcome the odds and make an impact with their incredible talents.

Let us look at some women who are multi-hyphenates, and are breaking barriers!

Kamalasubha
SR. Software Engineer

Let’s meet Senior Software Developer, Kamalasubha Muthukumar. She joined as an intern and over the years, she has become an expert in AI programming. One of the products she has worked on, Lipsync. LipSync flags audio- video sync errors with its unique watch and listen technology. Her entire journey was supported by her company, which saw her become a mother, giving her ample time to spend with her little one. Without that support, women are often guilt-tripped by family members to take a back seat from their careers. Kamala is emphatic about the role of her company in enabling her career.

Prior to the pandemic, the objective for workers was to demonstrate how resolutely they toiled throughout the day beneath the flickering fluorescent lights. Even though Covid-19 has a lot of bad normative implications, without it the idea of working from home or in hybrid mode would not have developed. Choice is crucial. Women workers who have the freedom to pick their work environment—remote or on-site—are less likely to feel burnt out, are happier in their positions, and are significantly less likely to think about quitting their employers. In light of the fact that not all employees will profit from a “one size fits all” approach to flexible work, this emphasizes the importance of giving employees as much agency and choice as is practical.

Kamalasubha claimed that her work-life balance improved by working from home. When it came to taking care of her personal needs, this control over her work schedule was vital. Kamala cited MulticoreWare’s new WFH and Hybrid mode features as a reason why she was able to care for her child. She can now care for her son’s needs while working in hybrid mode. The flexibility and convenience of remote work may encourage more female professionals to enter the workforce, accelerating the nation’s economic engine. So if you ever doubt the capabilities of moms in tech, just remember: with a little grit, anything is possible!
