MulticoreWare Sponsors and Participates in IndoML Conference 2024, Explores Computing at Scale in the Era of AI

December 26, 2024

MulticoreWare, Inc. participated in the IndoML Conference 2024, held at the BITS Pilani K K Birla Goa Campus, where the company also served as one of the sponsors. The conference, a premier event in the field of machine learning (ML), provided a platform for thought leaders, researchers, and students to explore the latest advancements and discuss the future of ML in India and beyond.

Raj Gupta, Vice President and General Manager of the Smart Cities & Smart Health Business Unit at MulticoreWare, participated in a panel discussion titled “Computing at Scale in the Era of AI.” Gupta was joined by fellow experts Niloy Ganguly, Krishna Gummadi, Santonu Sarkar, and Manish Gupta. The session, which drew an audience of over 400 delegates from the ML community, focused on the challenges of scaling AI/ML solutions in real time, particularly in the context of large language models (LLMs) and the vast number of sensors generating enormous data. The need for efficient computation during training and inferencing emerged as a critical concern.

Gupta shared valuable insights on the obstacles faced in transferring raw data from sensors to the cloud, as well as the computational network congestion that arises within cloud infrastructures. He highlighted the importance of edge processing to enable more efficient data handling, closer to the data source, and reduce the burden on cloud systems.

The event also offered a unique opportunity for faculty to engage with leading research groups from across the country, driving high-quality research and promoting competitive publications. Moreover, the conference served as a platform for industrial partners, including startups, working in ML to showcase their products, receive feedback, and explore potential collaborations.

The IndoML Conference 2024 brought together brilliant minds from academia, research, and industry, fostering productive discussions on how machine learning is transforming a wide range of domains. The event also showcased innovative research, particularly in the medical field, and sparked meaningful conversations about future collaborations between students, faculty, and industry partners.
